Are you a seasoned finance leader in private markets or alternative asset management? We are continuously expanding our network of experienced CFOs and Finance Directors for high-impact leadership roles at growing asset managers based in the DACH region.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial strategy, planning, and governance at Executive Committee level, partnering directly with the CEO
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on profitability, resource allocation, and organizational scaling
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash and liquidity management across multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group structures
• Ensure accurate accounting, consolidation, and management reporting across group entities
• Build institutional-grade internal controls, financial policies, and continuous audit readiness
• Lead external audit, tax, and regulatory processes, including engagement with regulators in licensing contexts
• Drive finance systems transformation - reduce manual dependencies, implement scalable tooling, and establish decision-grade KPI reporting for ExCo and Board
• Coordinate with Fund Operations and Fund Controlling, with clear boundaries between corporate and fund-level responsibilities
• Build, develop, and lead lean, high-performing finance teams through phases of significant growth

Your profile

• University degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field
• Extensive finance leadership experience (CFO, Finance Director, or Head of Finance) in asset management or private markets, ideally on the GP / management company side
• Demonstrated experience scaling an asset manager or comparable multi-entity platform through a significant growth phase
• Track record of building scalable finance functions, control environments, and reporting discipline in lean organizations
• Strong commercial understanding of asset management economics (fee income, cost base, operating leverage)
• Hands-on, pragmatic operator combined with institutional thinking - comfortable rolling up sleeves while designing for scale
• Gravitas and composure to operate credibly alongside senior investment professionals
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) strongly preferred
• Fluency in English required; German advantageous
