The Role

Support the production of the annual budget, periodic forecast and regular management information of various functional areas across the Society of Lloyd's. This role will also be responsible for supporting performance analysis of syndicates operating within the Lloyd's market.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes and cycles for specific functions across the Society of Lloyd's across including:
    • Supporting the team and business, to build budgets and forecasts, including inputting results into various planning models.
    • Provision of information to senior members of the team, and business stakeholders within the Society of Lloyd's, to support decision making.
    • Analysis of functional plans/forecasts and assessment of any deviation from plan
    • Maintaining accurate, standardised and meaningful financial records
  • Supporting the aggregation and compilation of Lloyd's Market syndicate plan and quarterly forecast results.
  • Supporting the team to provide detailed analysis and regular reporting of financial performance and frequent management information to enable the business, and senior FP&A team members, assess performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Preparation and submission of monthly accounting journals to ensure correct reporting of functional results. This includes manipulation and analysis of large data sets.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the business, delivering services and ensuring financial information needs are met.
  • Develop good understanding of our Finance systems in order to run cyclical year-to-date, budgeting and forecasting processes. Support Finance systems improvements and transitions.
  • Supporting process improvement and increasing efficiencies in the way we work, continually looking for opportunities to add value. Work with the wider team to deliver positive change.
  • Supporting an effective system of internal control; ensuring processes and controls are adequately documented and operate effectively on a continuous basis.
  • Supporting the team and in assessing the financial costs and benefits for strategic and other projects; conducting reviews of financial business cases to support key initiatives.

Skills
  • Good verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Confidence in working with, and ability to build good relationships with, a variety of stakeholders across the business
  • Proactive and independent but also can work effectively as part of team
  • Ability to design and deliver efficient processes and drive continual improvement
  • Good analytical skills, including strong systems and data understanding with the ability to provide value added insights concisely
  • Attention to detail, producing accurate results, but with the ability to step back and see the big picture
  • Delivery of high-quality, accurate work in a timely manner
  • Excel skills and the ability to work with, and create meaning out of large data sets

Knowledge
  • Best practice financial planning and analysis
  • All relevant legal and regulatory requirements both UK and International

Academic Qualifications
  • Degree or degree equivalent including Apprenticeships

Professional Qualification
  • Working towards a recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent)
