About the team
Our team is responsible for the monthly reconciliation of Scheme Debtors as well as all associated scheme debtor related transactions. We are looking for someone with experience of large scale reconciliations or with an accountancy background to join our Scheme Reconciliations team.
What you'll own
This is a mid-level role in the team so you will support the team with complex balance sheet reconciliations. You will delegate work and ensure objectives are met and feedback on any delays or issues.
You will be the first point of contact for queries and will lead on producing MI and reporting back data on aged items.
You will have the opportunity to work on some small projects focused around fixing issues with some scheme related balance sheet reconciliations

Key Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of scheme debtor related balances sheet accounts in accordance with Reconciliation policy.
- Supporting audit queries from the business.
- Month end accounting responsibilities (reconciliations, journals, ad-hoc investigations)
- Investigation and reporting of erroneous entries and unusual and unexpected movements
- Acquire specialist knowledge to provide accurate advice and information to both internal and external sources in a timely and professional manner, taking full ownership through to resolution.
- Able to prioritise and deliver to deadlines, adaptable to changing priorities
- Work as part of the team to ensure objectives are met.
- Continually look for ways of improving processes, providing potential solutions and following through to implementation to deliver efficiencies.
What you bring
- Proven track record of large-scale reconciliations
- Balance sheet accounting experience
- Experience of finance-based systems experience and proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
- Experience managing and reporting on large volumes of data
- High level of analytical skills
- Passion for attention to detail and getting it right first time
- Able to prioritise and deliver to deadlines, adaptable to changing priorities
- Able to manage multiple queries at one time, determined and able to persist through problems and resolve queries
- Comfortably and confidently engage with other team members and stakeholders

- Payments, acquiring or finance industry experience
