Munich Re Singapore Branch, part of Munich Re the world's largest reinsurer, is looking for a high caliber, motivated and independent professional who is interested in pursuing business opportunities in the area of financially motivated structured solutions, performing technical analysis and implementing successfully-executed structures into the overall business and reporting framework. Working as part of a diverse and close-knit team, you will support the account management of South East Asian client markets and support the end-to-end delivery of client solutions. Reporting to the Head of Structured Solutions (SEA) and based in Singapore, you will conduct frequent client engagements, significant actuarial and risk analysis, reports' preparation, and close collaboration with the relevant regional partners within the Asia Pacific region.

Your job:
  • Support business engagements with clients and assist in the front-end marketing and business development activity for the SEA Structured Solutions Team
  • Drive the end-to-end project implementation of client solutions following the initial client engagement phase
  • Assume a leading role as a senior member of team in conducting technical due diligence and actuarial analysis performed on identified business profiles
  • Ensure a high quality of submission documents which are intended for internal risk management and other relevant business function committee approvals
  • Research on regulations and clients' financial statements to create bespoke and innovative proposition opportunities
  • Occasionally support the Structured Solutions business' quarterly reporting needs for relevant financial reporting basis (MAS, Solvency II and IFRS)
  • Occasionally liaise with SEA's Valuation, Technical Accounting and Regional Structured Solutions teams for monitoring needs
  • Conduct actuarial assumptions review and track performance of in-force reinsurance treaties
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects based on business priorities

Your profile:
  • Qualified actuary with between 10 to 17 years of life insurance actuarial experience
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong sense of team ethic
  • Excellent technical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Have ability and agility to multi-tasking and working within tight business timelines
  • Demonstrate sharp attention to details
  • Possess a good understanding of South East Asian markets including regulatory requirements (preferred)
  • Knowledge of South East Asian language will be an advantage
  • Knowledge and proficiency in AXIS will be an advantage
