Join our dynamic Finance & Advice team as we navigate an exciting period of transformation! We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Tax Advisor to deliver high quality technical advice and support the Australian tax compliance and the international tax reporting of the Suncorp Group.

What you'll do

• Deliver the Australian income tax, employment tax, and international tax reporting obligations of the Suncorp Group. Although experience in all these areas of taxation is not required, candidates must be open to learning about these taxes.
• There is a strong compliance focus in this role, centred on international tax reporting including country-by-country reporting, transfer pricing, tax transparency, Pillar Two and withholding taxes.
• Provide timely, customer focused, high quality advice technical tax advice to business stakeholders.
• Actively maintain current knowledge of tax issues and developments, monitor tax law changes and emerging ATO views.
• Grow and maintain strategic business relationships across the group and with advisers and industry bodies.
• Proactively contribute to regulator engagement, including the ATO justified trust program and the ATO Pre-lodgement Compliance Review.
• Adhere to Suncorp Group tax risk appetite statement and tax governance standards. Operationalise, implement and enhance the Group tax internal control structure.
• Actively engage in process improvement, automation, and change management initiatives.

What you'll bring

• Qualifications in Accounting/Finance or law (mandatory)
• Professional qualifications from the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA), CPA. CTA or Masters of Taxation
• 5+ years of experience in corporate tax consulting either within a large corporate, second tier firm or big 4 firm
• Demonstrated experience in research and the provision of complex strategic tax advice
• Experience in preparation of qualitative and quantitative tax reporting
• Proficient in tax effect accounting principles and application
• Experience in management of regulatory relationships
• Work effectively to deadlines
