We're hiring a Head of Credit Risk to lead the Risk Management function reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer. Sydney based.

As the Head of Credit Risk of the business, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the risk management strategy whilst ensuring the responsible underwriting of loans in line with risk appetite, delivering timely outcomes for our customers and safeguarding the financial health of the firm.

Your role:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with the business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Maintain oversight of underwriting process and quality to ensure robust assessment of loan applications, providing feedback through assurance reviews.
  • As a holder of Delegated Credit Authority, ensure any higher ticket deals and policy exceptions are thoroughly assessed and mitigated appropriately.
  • Partner with other stakeholders to drive improvements in underwriting models, analytics, and decision-making tools to optimise risk-adjusted returns.
  • Implement and enhance ongoing portfolio monitoring for timely and proactive actioning.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders to enhance risk-based pricing strategies to balance profitability with risk exposure.
  • Be accountable for timely and accurate delivery of loss forecasts/provisioning models.

  • Collaborate with Collections teams to provide insights on strategies, supporting policies for collections and hardship management.
  • Develop and coach team of analysts, including talent development.
  • Engagement across various stakeholders within the organisation to support strategic decision making and integrate controls into processes.

What you bring:
  • Extensive experience in Asset Finance and / or commercial lending, preferably in credit risk and underwriting.
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical thinker with knowledge in credit underwriting in asset finance or other SME lending products.
  • Strong understanding of lending process and fraud risks.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage a challenging and varied workload.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk methodologies, processes and concepts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Mathematics, Business, Commerce or relevant field.
  • Current or previously held credit delegation will be an added advantage.
