Our team is growing:
Responsible for reviewing pre-qualified loan applications to ensure all files meet established program guidelines for credit and documentation. Performs a wide range of duties related to the underwriting process. Renders an underwriting decision within credit guidelines while ensuring compliance with federal lending regulations.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

A day in the life:
- Work directly with internal and external partners to collect and evaluate application stipulations such as income documents, mortgage statements, and property ownership validation.
- Ensure all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and complies with company policy
- Navigate multiple system interfaces to review and clear pending stipulations to final approve loans
- Exercise good judgement, credit analysis, and policy adherence while evaluating requests for potential loan increases or credit exceptions
- Provide inbound and outbound phone support for internal and external partners to resolve loan exceptions, application questions, or partner portal related support
- Work in a fast-paced environment while staying precise in daily activities to meet SLA's
- Assist the loan funding department to resolve and expedite funding issues
- Cultivate strong relationships with external partners through exceptional customer service
- Communicate directly with partners regarding credit decisions and application status
- Perform welcome calls with borrowers within established timeframes
- Manage loan pipeline and communicate the status of all loans to each principal party involved
- Demonstrate the ability to be a team player by providing superior customer service, being flexible and approachable.
- Other duties as assigned
Our newest teammate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years' experience in consumer lending, loan processing, consumer finance or banking industry
- Knowledge and understanding of basic financial analysis techniques, credit, and lending principles.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make high quality decisions and execute in a time sensitive manner.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet prioritize deadlines in fast paced environment.
- Ability to interact with managers of varying levels; build consensus; and motivate others.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
