Irrigation Farm Hand

Are you a motivated individual with an interest in agriculture? Our team at Bundaberg are looking for an individual to join their team as a casual Irrigation Farm Hand. Providing irrigation and assisting in general farm hand daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Irrigation Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Assisting with the delivering of water and fertigation requirements to all trees
• Assisting with maintaining irrigation infrastructure including irrigation lines and connectors, pumps, filtration systems, motors, automated and delivery systems
• Monitoring water usage via monitoring systems and visual observations
• Contributing to the development and improvement of irrigation systems
• Farm maintenance
• Maintaining records
• Following safety requirements and contributing to continuous improvement of safety elements

Requirements

• Previous experience in orchard irrigation highly desirable
• Previous experience with MAIT software highly desirable
• This position involves manual, physical labour and requires the ability to work outdoors in an orchard environment
• You will hold a current driver's licence, manual licence preferred
• Ability to work independently and as directed without continuous supervision
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Chemical certificate highly desirable
• You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with Saturday and Sunday work during busy periods)
• You will have a positive, can-do attitude and be motivated to complete work in scheduled timeframes
