POSITION OVERVIEW
PIMCO is seeking to hire a permanent Conducting Officer whose responsibilities will encompass risk management and valuation for its Luxembourg management company/alternative investment fund manager (the "AIFM"). This is a full-time position based in Luxembourg.
The alternative investment funds (the "AIFs"), for which the AIFM acts, employ a wide range of underlying strategies, mainly investments in commercial and residential loans, real estate, loan origination, structured products, securitizations, and other asset-backed securities, as well as corporate credit and equity transactions (including distressed securities and direct investments in private or public companies). Additionally, more traditional AIFs primarily focus on fixed income securities and commodities.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in AIF risk management, operational risk management and illiquid assets valuation, along with a comprehensive understanding of European fund regulations. It is anticipated that the individual will fulfil these responsibilities in Luxembourg while integrating into the broader PIMCO team on a global scale.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the Conducting Officer and primary contact for CSSF inquiries related to risk management and valuation.
- Oversee risk management within the AIFM, contributing to the ongoing development of the AIFM's risk management framework and maintaining its risk management policies and procedures for all relevant AIFs in compliance with AIFMD.
- Lead the valuation function within the AIFM, maintain its valuation policy and procedure in compliance with the AIFMD and the CSSF guidelines.
- Establish risk levels and methodologies and take responsibility for structuring the risk management and liquidity management processes.
- Evaluate existing and new AIF products from a risk management perspective and recommend appropriate risk management techniques.
- Collaborate with delegated investment managers regarding risk profiles, risk appetite, and risk levels.
- Manage risk information to senior management, the board of directors, and the CSSF.
- Actively participate in quarterly (and ad-hoc) valuation and risk committee meetings, overseeing and supervising the financial monitoring of AIFs (NAV & fund accounting control).
- Ensure that communication regarding valuation, risk, and compliance matters between the PIMCO investment adviser and the AIFM remains clear, organized, and consistent.
- Over 15 years of experience in the alternative asset management sector, with a preference for at least 5 years of experience at a Luxembourg AIFM or a comparable management company.
- Experience with both open-ended and closed-ended funds is required, ideally including loan origination, real estate finance, and structured credit strategies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of European fund regulations is essential.
- A professional qualification or a master's degree in economics or finance or other relevant degree is necessary, depending on prior professional experience.
- Strong analytical skills are required, along with a solid understanding of the financial aspects related to various AIF structures (open-ended and closed-ended funds) and the ability to multitask and manage a diverse workload.
- An understanding of the key risks associated with AIFs and the ability to make sound, risk-based assessments is important.
- The candidate must be able to quickly grasp the complexities of AIF structures, the operational environment, and the investment strategies of the AIFs, as well as how these relate to the risk management, valuation, and compliance framework of the AIFM.
- The individual should be highly organized and self-motivated, with strong presentation skills and experience presenting at the board level or similar.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being capable of working independently is required. Fluency in both written and spoken English is necessary.
