The Opportunity

The Analyst, Capital Markets will play a key role in supporting the strategic development and execution of KV Capital’s capital raising initiatives. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, you will help drive the success of our efforts to secure and expand our capital partnerships. This position provides an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to KV Capital’s diverse operations, while directly impacting long-term growth through maintaining and expanding key capital relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in capital markets, demonstrate critical thinking skills, have strong financial acumen, and a comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic trends as well as the equity and debt markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the creation of pitch books and client presentations. Undertake research projects for various strategic and tactical initiatives. Analyze market conditions and economic data to forecast and assess external factors influencing capital markets strategies, including valuation, financial modelling and comparable analyses. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership regarding market trends, and risk factors, helping connect investors with KV Capital’s investment opportunities. Monitor fundamental economic, industrial, and corporate developments. Support the execution of capital raises and transactions, while tracking metrics and milestones and preparing regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards.   Maintain databases of capital raise transactions in the market and compile regular investor lead activity reports. Collaborate with the Investor Relations team for certain investor transactions. Work with different business units to understand their capital raising needs and investment products offered by KV Capital.  

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, engineering, economics, mathematics, liberal arts, sciences or a related field. Experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, sales and trading, corporate development or wider financial services is considered an asset (internships included). Strong interest in, and understanding of, equity and debt markets. Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, CapitalIQ, and Pitchbook is an asset. A professional designation or working towards one (e.g. CFA) is preferred. Strong financial acumen and understanding of macroeconomic themes and the equity and debt market functions. Superior organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills for building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and working collaboratively to drive results. Driven, hardworking, and curious, with a passion for research and continuous learning.
