Job Summary :

This role is part of the Corporate Actuarial function at the Group level. You will be assisting with providing multi-disciplinary actuarial information, advice and services to support and enable effective reserving and reporting to regulatory bodies, across the APAC region. You will spend your time helping the team in developing reserving and actuarial/statistical models, conducting actuarial analyses and contributing to business development, management and change activities. You will work with other actuarial colleagues located around the world, and information suppliers/customers delivering 'fit for purpose' actuarial information.

Job Duties:

Under supervision:

• Conduct quarterly loss reserve reviews for the Global Markets segments of the Group, including producing material for management and board meetings

• Set up reserving models, including data extraction, checks and collating results. Use reserving methodologies to estimate policy liabilities, and update reserving assumptions within the reserving models.

• Support completion of statutory reporting requirements such as year-end valuation reporting and capital adequacy stress testing for the branches within the APAC region

• Assist with business planning and reinsurance renewals

• Work with the Finance department to ensure processes are aligned and deliverables are met

• Provide actuarial assistance on the reporting requirements of IFRS 17

• Any other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or related field

• Some relevant work experience within the actuarial field of General Insurance would be an advantage

• Proficient with Excel

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Ability to learn quickly

• Excellent problem-solving skills

• Strong ethics and integrity

• A team player

• Keen to learn and enthusiastic about a career in Actuarial
