About the job:
- The Private Credit team at BBVA originates, analyzes, structures, executes and risk-manages Private Credit transactions globally, guided by investor demand.
- These solutions for borrowers are usually in the form of structured and privately negotiated secured loans. Risk-sharing with investors can be in one of a number of formats, including derivatives.
- Common themes include relative value, bespoke financing needs, and risk transformation.
- Geographic focus is on Western Europe/UK, LatAm and US.
- The role will involve (a) working with Bank's originators and own network to identify financing opportunities spanning a broad, global mandate including Private Credit, Direct Lending and Special Situations, and (b) analyzing, executing and risk-managing such transactions.
- The ideal individual will be looking to join an experienced, high-performing team, to lead complex, interesting transactions, and to interact with debt funds and other types of institutional investors.
Responsibilities would involve:
- Evaluating potential private credit investments, conducting due diligence, preparing credit committee memos, and managing investor feedback.
Specifically:
- Assisting with managing the entire transaction process, from deal origination to analysis, structuring, execution and risk-management;
- Analyzing private credit transaction from a perspective of both the bank and investors;
- Communicating with private credit funds, special situations desk and other investors regarding all aspects of deals;
- Liaising with other teams in the bank on relevant deal components.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, ideally in leveraged finance, private credit, restructuring, M&A, investment banking, high-yield lending or credit risk / ratings advisory.
- A track record of evaluating and executing private debt investment opportunities.
- Strong LBO modeling, basic Powerpoint, and communication skills.
- Self-starter attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn in a cordial, team environment.
- Fluency in Spanish a plus.
