We have an exciting opportunity for as VAT Manager you will be responsible for the timely and correct handling of matters concerning the day-to-day of all the specific Indirect Tax requirements of the clients, including correspondence and other communication with clients, third parties and Vistra's teams.
The Indirect Tax Manager has also to handle the management of financial aspects and reporting and people management for its own services in the Tax Services department.
He should also be involved in creating new projects and initiatives for the expansion of the department and creation of new revenue.

Your responsibilities include:
- Advise on technical matters related with all the Indirect Tax Services.
- Ensure that the client servicing units/teams are supported with Indirect Tax matters in their everyday work
- Ensure effective/efficient communication with tax authorities, external advisors and clients
- Monitor the follow-up of invoices to clients and collecting debts
- Maintain an excellent understanding of accounting, tax, Tax requirements and legal documents
- Take part in development of the team members by providing relevant trainings
- Manage complications or complex technical matters reported by team members
- Meet own chargeability target
- Optimize client follow up, time management and processes
- Ensure the preparation of the work in the best conditions
- Support the team's management in the day-to-day operation
- Ensure the development of the department is in line with the objectives
- Ensure a high quality of services and communication
- Anticipate client needs when performing Indirect Tax analysis and develop strong technical research capabilities
- Work closely and effectively with the client servicing units/teams and support departments
- Execute all the necessary to have Vistra Group and clients perform according to Compliance and AML rules
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures
- Keep team well informed on professional and organizational developments and news
- Constantly develop (close) work relationships with advisors and clients, maintain contact and meeting with (and when necessary visit) clients and their representatives
- Active involvement to expend the Tax Services business line
- Managing relations with team clients: regularly meeting clients, knowing clients' business and following it up regularly, being available for client's complaints, issues and problems, consulting clients within the scope of services delivered, managing clients' expectations, ensure smooth acceptance of new clients and their introduction to the team, following up invoices to clients and collecting their debts
- Team management: directing team on the allocation of work, controlling quality of work and regularly giving feedback to all individual team members on their performance, guiding, supervising and coaching team members, keeping team well informed on professional and organizational developments and news, following up chargeability of team members, taking up internal organizational tasks related to the team, building up positive human relations within the team. Establishing employee goals and conducting performance appraisal for the team, scheduling and conducting team meetings, contributing for the initial hiring and selecting process
- Constantly developing (close) work relationships with advisors and clients, maintaining contact and meeting with (and when necessary visit) clients and their representatives
Relevant experience:
- University degree or equivalent certification in Accounting or Tax with a specialisation in Indirect Tax
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Luxembourg Indirect Tax is essential
- Fluent in English and French or German
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Good communication and organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
- Proactive with a client service orientated attitude
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritise
- Ability to solve problems and work independently and as a member of a team
