Main Responsibilities:
The incumbent will report to the Team Head - Trade Finance Operations (TFO) and the team supports our Head Office (Paris) commodity trade finance operations to process their daily trade finance transactions which includes:
- To perform the role of maker in processing of trade finance letter of credit (LC) documents, import acceptance/payment and export LC negotiation/acceptance/discounting of LC bills in back-office processing system (Fusion Trade Innovation - FBTI).
- To ensure a smooth and efficient workflow between the Paris and Singapore teams.
- To perform vessel screening and anti-monetary laundering (AML) checks on import and export LC transactions and other relevant transactions via the relevant Paris AML screening tool.
- To streamline processes and constantly improve efficiency between the Paris and Singapore teams.
- To participate in digitalization or projects relating to the back-office processing systems.
- Acting as cover for 1st/2nd document checker for Paris import and export LC documents:
- Identify documentary discrepancies, if any, in accordance with the latest ICC standard rules and guidelines and International Standard Banking Practices etc.
- Highlight documentary discrepancies, irregularities and any red flags item arising from AML screening in efficient manner to Paris team for their necessary actions.
- Participate in digitalization or projects relating to the LC document checkers team as and when required by Paris
- Any other job tasks assigned by Team Head or Head, TFO APAC, and local and/or the relevant Paris team heads or managers.
Required Skills:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in commodity trade import and export LC documents checking and end to end LC bills processing is preferred.
- Meticulous and possess good knowledge and processing skills of commodity trade LC bills.
- Those with good documents checking skills (preferably with CDCS accreditation) and exposure of commodity trade LC documents is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of ICC rules and practices with good knowledge of latest version of UCP/ISBP/ISP.
- Good understanding of trade finance due diligence/AML requirements.
- Working knowledge and experience with FBTI is an advantage.
- Good team player and work well in fast pace working environment.
- Must be available to work during Singapore public holidays.
- Possess good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point applications.
- Good attitude and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
