Job Description

The Group Financial Reporting & Accounting Specialist will be responsible to:
  • Support the Group Financial Reporting & Accounting Specialist to guarantee a consistent and reliable Chart of Account between all systems (SAS/Omega/SAP/BFC) and ensure that a relevant governance around these topics is followed.
  • For each production phase, resolve cross systems integration rejects between SAS/Omega/ SAP in collaboration with Financial Solutions & IT teams
  • Develop technical guidance or training to Legal Entities on:
    • CoA to ensure that they have good understanding of cross systems interactions.
    • IFRS 17 key notions as well as analytical background to help preparing technical analysis.
  • Involve in (when appropriate) finance projects within the scope of the Group Reporting & Accounting department

The position works very closely with all areas of Finance. It thus offers a broad and comprehensive view of what are the major financialchallenges of the P&C & L&H business of worldwide reinsurance company.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

1/ Guarantee a consistent and reliable Chart of Account between all systems (SAS/Omega/SAP/BFC)
  • Maintain a Chart of Account that link the Omega TC to SAP GL and BFC, update it upon request (new operation, creation of accounts)
  • Ensure that a relevant governance around these topics is followed.

2/ For each production phase, resolve cross systems integration rejects between SAS/Omega/ SAP in collaboration with Financial Solutions & IT teams
  • During each quarterly close, a few integration errors can occur and require swift fixing actions. Need to interact with different teams to understand the nature of the reject and determine appropriate remediation plan.

3/ Develop technical guidance or training to Legal Entities on:
  • CoA to ensure a good understanding of cross systems interactions: documentation on how the CoA is built and maintained, definition of key parameters.
  • IFRS 17 key notions as well as analytical background to help preparing technical analysis.
  • Closing Clearance presentation:
    • Ensure the correct maintenance and development of AFO reports used by LEs for their clearance package in relation with SAP CC, Closing and Consolidation teams.
    • Review clearance package produced by LEs to identify key topics and produce a Group synthesis.
    • Follow up after each quarterly close to improve/automate the process and increase the knowledge and feedback to LEs

4/ Involve in (when appropriate) finance projects within the scope of the Group Reporting & Accounting department
  • Project of redesigning the IO process in light of IFRS 17
  • Any relevant topic(s) that falls under our scope of responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required experience & competencies :
  • IFRS Finance reporting experience
  • Team player, collaborative spirit
  • Very good understanding of Actuarial/Risk Assessment/Financial Techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance business and principles.
  • Develops high levels of credibility and accountability.
  • Able to identify and summarize the main issues in a clear, unambiguous, and simple language.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • The employee needs to have spent 4-6 years in a financial department, preferably in a reinsurance or insurance entity or as external auditor, preferably in the reinsurance and/or insurance area.
  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken)

Required Education
  • Master degree (or above) in Finance/Audit/Controlling from Business or engineer School or Strong finance and accounting background (domestic or foreign CPA). Actuarial training is a plus.
