As a Financial Accountant for Policy, Advisory and Markets , you'll make an impact by:
  • Provision of technical accounting advice.
  • Development and maintenance of documented financial accounting policies.
  • Preparation of accounting reviews, including goodwill impairment assessments and software capitalisation approvals
  • Training on accounting policies and upholding governance requirements related to their use.
  • Assisting the in the preparation and review of Group and subsidiary statutory reports.
  • Financial reporting, and operation of controls, for Group Treasury and Financial Markets.

This is a permanent full-time position. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 40% of your time per week in the office, increasing to 60% as of July 2025.

What you'll bring to the role
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • Current (or previous) membership in a related professional accounting body (e.g. ICAANZ, CPA)
  • Strong knowledge of AASB accounting standards and regulations relating to statutory reporting
  • Established experience in technical accounting within the Australian Banking and Finance industry or via external audit experience
  • Previous experience in statutory reporting in a listed organization
  • A high level of problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective two-way communicator, keeping others informed whilst asking questions to understand overall business unit needs
  • A passion for continuous improvement, ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing demands is an essential component of the role.
  • Excellent written and arithmetical skills.
  • Experience of working with financial systems and Microsoft applications such as Excel.
