Record Financial Group is keen to recruit a Management Accountant within our Finance Team.

Record Financial Group:

Record is a leading specialist currency and asset manager with $106.0 billion (as at 30 September 2024) in Assets Under Management Equivalent. Record's services include currency management, sustainable finance, and asset management. Our clients are largely institutions, including pension funds, charities, foundations, endowments, and family offices.

Record's offices are in London and Windsor in the UK, Zürich, New York, Amsterdam, and Düsseldorf. The relevant team are based in the London office.

Position: Management Accountant

Department: Finance

Location: London based

Role: Full time (37.5 hours per week). Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the London office

Line Manager: Finance Director

Six key areas of responsibility and activities:

Integrity of financial reporting system and activity
  • Oversees the maintenance of the purchase ledger, expense card system and cash books by the Assistant Accountant, and provides cover in their absence
  • Oversees the calculation of accruals and prepayments & posting to the Nominal Ledger by the Assistant Accountant, and provides cover in their absence
  • Reconciles all balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
  • Manages inter-company transactions including calculation of management charges
  • Analyses variances against forecast, and provides commentary
  • Manages the file preparation process for each Group company for the YE audit and interim review, ensuring accurate and complete schedules

Cash management and oversight of banking function
  • Responsible for operational aspects of electronic banking platform and liaising with bank on banking solutions
  • Manages the group bank accounts and cash flows to maximise returns for surplus cash whilst ensuring availability of funds as required
  • Manages the cashbook function assisted by the Assistant Accountant

Monthly payroll and pension
  • Conducts first review of all Group payrolls, and covers the preparation of UK payroll in the absence of the Assistant Accountant.
  • Ensures timely payment of all payroll-related liabilities
  • Manages and reconciles payroll-related control accounts on Nominal Ledger
  • Completes year end returns for payroll, P11D and Voluntary Settlement agreement
  • Calculates and transfers the company pension contributions and manages the relationship with the pension provider

Oversight of the purchase ledger function

Supervises day to day purchase ledger activity, checking purchase order and invoice coding completed by the Assistant Accountant.Reports unbudgeted spend to senior management.

Taxation
  • Prepares quarterly instalment computations for corporation tax
  • Prepares Group corporate tax computations for review

Process improvement
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving current processes, procedures and formats, including the generation of ideas to the implementation of new methods of working and the maintenance of accurate system, policies and procedural notes. This will be applicable for all areas of work identified above.

Training and supervision
  • Ad-hoc training as required and supervision of the Assistant Accountant in those areas of responsibility described above

Requirements:
  • ACA or CIMA recently qualified
  • High energy and highly professional
  • Commitment to meaningful continuous improvement with the proactivity to drive ideas forward
  • Good communicator; high quality written work product; team player
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as manage multiple projects and to tight deadline(s)
  • Confidence and ability to work with senior colleagues across the Group
