What are we looking for?
We’re currently seeking an Investment Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis, located in Regina, SK. As a member of the investment team, the Investment Analyst will assist with the oversight of external investment managers to align with strategy objectives and risk-return targets for long-term Fund performance. Reporting to the Director of Private Investments, this position focuses on analyzing and reporting on external managers, aiding in manager searches, monitoring the Plan’s overall performance, and supporting the investment team. While duties encompass both public and private assets, there will be a stronger focus on private investments.

How will you spend your time?
- You’ll assist in the monitoring of the Plan’s external investment managers by compiling and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative investment manager performance data.
- Assist in identifying and resolving reporting and data issues in a timely manner.
- Research and analyze data to support investment manager search activities.
- Assist in analyzing and evaluating investment management strategies to increase return, reduce risk and/or reduce costs, as directed.
- Compile data for investment reviews, projects, and studies.
- Assist in the design and maintenance of investment manager monitoring systems and processes.
- Prepare investment material for distribution to the Board.
What expertise will you bring?
- You’ll have two (2) or more years of relevant experience in a relevant role and we’re excited to consider new grads as well.
- An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, commerce, actuarial science or other related disciplines.
- You hold or are working towards the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
- Knowledge of technical theory related to financial management, capital markets, securities analysis, and portfolio management.
- Strong research, analytical and writing skills.
- Basic knowledge of defined benefit plan provisions and funding principles and relevant pension legislation and regulation is considered an asset.
- A strong ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and sound judgment and ability to work with a considerable amount of independence.
- Proficient in English with excellent communication skills.
What is the pay?
$78,283 - $97,854 annually (based on qualifications and skills). Additional compensation includes short-term incentive plan (based on eligibility) along with a competitive benefits package.
