The North Dakota Retirement and Investment Office (RIO) is a global institutional investor with investment portfolios of more than $23 billion. At RIO, we are driven by our values of integrity, accountability, and service in fulfillment of our investment and fiduciary responsibilities.
Our investment team is seeking a driven Public Markets Investment Analyst. This key role will play a contributing part in ensuring RIO fulfills its mission, vision, and values.
As the Public Markets Investment Analyst, you will be part of the newly created Internal Portfolio Management Team, but will partner with all of the RIO investment and operations teams to succeed.
As the Public Markets Investment Analyst, you will help to develop investment strategies for pension funds, an endowment structure, and insurance trusts. Responsibilities may include portfolio optimization, quantitative analytics, trading of securities related to active and passive strategies, model portfolio implementation, derivative overlays, collateral management, liquidity optimization, and data management.
This role may also assist with macroeconomic, quantitative, and fundamental research and recommendations for crafting the internal strategies, as well as the externally managed public market strategies. This role is also expected to work with the Risk team on risk and performance analytics and reporting by leveraging Aladdin. All such activities will span both equity and fixed income markets, and will provide a learning experience to develop a broad set of investment skills essential for future career opportunities on the team. To thrive in this role, you should have investment experience and credentials; with quantitative and risk management investment experience being preferred. Effective communication and collaboration with team members, stakeholders, and public and private organizations are also essential for this position.
