Job Details

As part of the Global Sovereign Debt team, the Analyst, Sovereign Credit will be responsible for supporting the investment team by conducting fundamental sovereign research and help in reporting. He/she will perform macroeconomic and credit analyses of sovereign countries and will update and maintain existing spreadsheets, models and reports.


Job Functions

  • Analyze international policy developments and assess the creditworthiness of sovereign governments globally, focusing on both developed markets and emerging markets countries.
  • Identify economic, political, and market risk factors that impact external and local bond and fx returns and communicate relevant analysis to portfolio managers.
  • Update and maintain existing fundamental reports, models and spreadsheets.
  • Produce month-end and quarter-end reports.
  • Participate in discussions with senior government officials, private sector representatives and rating agencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-5 years sovereign credit analysis is preferred.
  • CFA or candidacy is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with third-party data providers (e.g. Bloomberg).
  • Ability to present investment ideas effectively and clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize time and tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Outstanding initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented, but able to work independently.
  • Strong sense of integrity and professionalism.

Base Salary Range
The estimated base salary range for this position is $125,000 – $165,000. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
