Responsibilities
Key duties and responsibilities
- Under direct supervision, conduct analyses that adhere to actuarial standards of practice: select appropriate data sources and methods, make assumptions, recognize considerations and develop recommendations.
- Become familiar with data sources and requirements; retrieve and manipulate data.
- Analyse data on premium and claims for experience analysis
- Develop knowledge of actuarial methodologies by assisting in the creation/revision of pricing models and tools for automation.
- Assist in conducting research for pricing and modelling.
- Assist senior actuaries in pricing activities across Group and Retail portfolio.
- Other adhoc tasks
Duration:
- This is a 12 months contract position
Qualifications
Experience:
- No prior actuarial work experience required. Knowledge of advanced mathematics and statistical concepts.
Skills and Personal Competences:
- Effective verbal and written communication, time management and organization skills.
- Ability to comprehend actuarial concepts and other advanced statistical concepts.
- Ability to think logically and perform accurate calculations in a timely manner.
- Ability to use personal computer, ppt slides, and Microsoft Office (including visual basic). Experience in Python and SQL is an advantage.
- Strong problem solving and analytical thinking ability.

- Culturally flexible and sensitive.
- Completed or nearly completed bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field with a strong quantitative orientation.
