The role entails providing effective second line oversight and challenge of the bank's financial risks, covering capital, liquidity, market, credit and climate risk. It will be a hands-on analytical role underpinned by problem-solving and quantitative analysis. The Financial Risk Manager will produce reporting, conduct technical analysis and provide oversight of the accuracy, adequacy and regulatory alignment of management information used to monitor financial risks. The role will involve frequent senior manager engagement, building and maintaining business relationships and raising challenge on strategic initiatives, financial processes, risk controls and financial decision making.

Experience:
  • 7+ years of experience working in a quantitative Risk role, currently operating at a management level, preferably in a financial risk role.
  • Extensive experience overseeing financial risks including capital risk, liquidity risk, market risk, profitability risk and credit risk.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Retail & Corporate banking including the activities, processes and risk controls carried out by the Risk, Finance and Treasury functions.
  • Accountability for the independent oversight and challenge of Finance and Treasury processes and controls, providing insight and recommendations to the business.
  • Subject matter expert in ICAAP & ILAAP second line oversight process.
  • Experienced developing relevant risk frameworks and policies.
  • Advanced understanding of economic theory, financial formulas, financial models, economic theory and stress-testing.
  • Significant experience analysing, manipulating and interpreting data through the use of data-querying / analysis tools such as SQL, Python, SAS.
  • Advanced level Excel, with VBA experience desirable.
