About the job:
Contribute to the definition and implementation of the GM sales strategy and its execution with Financial Sponsors in the region (main focus IR & FX products), being responsible for the product positioning and profitability. Develop and widen client base in the region.
- Collaborate with the in-line Sales Manager in defining the business strategy, business plan, budget and financial forecasts for the Sales Financial Sponsors Multiproduct unit taking into account the product market drivers and clients' needs
- Drive the origination of commercial opportunities with clients in the region, jointly with the Bankers. Offer tailor-made investment and hedging solutions to the clients
- Take part in clients' conference calls and meetings, and in the negotiation and closing of operations. Focus on reinforcing BBVA relationship with the clients and identifying new business opportunities
- Supervise the pricing and negotiation of the secondary market orders received from the clients, facilitating the coordination with Trading and Structuring desks. Support his/ her team in daily tasks and bottlenecks with the different internal units, both with Financial Sponsors and Corporate clients.
- Boost the coordination with the Research unit, leveraging on the BBVA research capabilities to offer added value services to the customers. Take into account research recommendations and market view to generate new product ideas and proposals
- Encourage the coordination and strategic alignment with Bankers and other Global Markets desks in order to mainstream and coordinate the product and customer needs' knowledge. Follow up all on-going sales activity with Financial Sponsors in the region - Drive the organization of different events and commercial actions with the clients (workshops, breakfasts, etc.), in coordination with the Marketing and Advertising unit. Coordinate the participation of other Global Markets units as required
- Stay abreast of the specific regulation that may affect the product commercialization to the client segment under his/ her responsibility.
- Monitor the sales activity and profitability through in-house tools and data sources. Follow up the operations' pipeline and the budget compliance
- Participate in the strategic and pipeline committees of the Global Sales unit. Assist to periodic meetings with the Global Client Coverage unit to coordinate the commercial strategy with the clients
- Generate recurrent income in order to meet the revenues targets that are set each year in the Global Sales unit and the Global Sales & Structuring overall budget.
- Focus on boosting revenues through GM product's origination with Financial Sponsors in the region, and support the team's production with UK Corporates.
- Comply with internal and external operational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Report to the line manager on a periodic and ad-hoc basis about main performance indicators.
Academic background and previous experience:
- Academic background in Economics, Accounting, Finance or related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in Global market sales is required.
- Extensive experience with Financial Sponsors and/or Large UK Corporates is required.
- Extensive knowledge of Project Finance and Corporate Hedging dynamics, including XVA / Capital valuation is required.
- Experience in UK CPI/RPI hedging will be valued.
Language:
- Native / Bilingual English is required.
