Our client, a Dutch family-owned dairy business, is expanding their Finance team and looking for an ESG controller. In the role of ESG Controller, you play a crucial part in establishing and maintaining a future-proof setup for non-financial reporting, aligned with the sustainability strategy of our client at group level. This is a new position with room for initiative and your ideas on the best approach to the role. You will be part of the Corporate Control team (6 FTE) and report to the Director of Finance & Accounting. Additionally, you will work closely with our central ESG team, which is responsible for setting policies, the initial validation of non-financial ESG KPIs, and their interpretation.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Jointly responsible for defining and maintaining the CSRD principles, based on which non-financial ESG data is collected, analyzed, and validated from internal and external sources, and then translating this into concrete action points;
• Setting up a 'mature' control environment for non-financial reporting and managing and implementing an ESG accounting manual;
• Preparing for and overseeing external audits of sustainability indicators;
• Establishing and contributing to the development of the non-financial control framework.
• A completed HBO and/or WO degree, preferably in the field of Finance/Accounting;
• Knowledge of the CSRD principles and experience in the role of a sparring partner for the entire organization;
• You are analytical, accurate, and have an affinity for data, systems, and technological improvements;
• You are communicative and understand how to engage colleagues and other departments in this topic;
• Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
