Summary
** On-site only position **
The Equity Research Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and recommending US exchanged listed growth companies with market capitalizations greater than $4 billion within the consumer discretionary and related industries, employing our time-tested investment philosophy and research framework. The analyst will interact with the Large Cap Growth team and other strategies daily providing updates on company specific and industry wide fundamental developments. This position reports directly to Senior Portfolio Managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth company and industry analysis built on a strong understanding of bottom-up fundamentals on a select group of domestic growth companies
- Participate in management meetings, industry conferences and interact with sell-side analysts to gain a better understanding of the business drivers and competitive dynamics
- Monitor portfolio holdings and potential candidates, as well as present well-researched opinions and updates
Skills Required
- Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with an entrepreneurial team
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong knowledge of bottom-up fundamental equity analysis and financial statement analysis
- Understanding of Porter’s Five Forces, sustainable competitive advantage, and moat frameworks
- Passion for investing and intellectual curiosity on business, investing, and markets Knowledge of quantitative analysis, finance, accounting, and statistics
- Ability to digest a wide variety of fundamental and quantitative data points and provide a concise assessment of how it impacts relevant portfolio holdings
- 1-5 years relevant experience in banking or finance
- Bachelor’s degree required, progress toward advanced degrees preferred
- CFA designation or progress preferred
