Our client is a leader in providing engineering and construction services for large scale infrastructure projects across globe. The company has a long history and an international set-up. They currently are looking for a determined and dynamic Senior Accountant to join their Zurich team. The qualified candidate will have min 5 years of GL accounting in Switzerland, knowledge of OR and IFRS, and Fluency in German and English.

Task and Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and the Swiss Code of Obligations, reporting directly to the group
- Management of financial accounting as well as accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Recording invoices and bank payments
- Reconciliation of invoices, accounts, debtors and creditors
- Review expense and credit card reports
- Supporting external audit procedures
- Preparation of the periodic VAT statements (CH) and other mandatory tax forms
- Improve and implement accounting, financial control processes and systems
- Responsibility for and involvement in ICS processes
- Supporting with project work
- Supporting and instructing subsidiaries abroad
Skills / Qualifications
- Several years of commercial training followed by a federal certificate in finance and accounting
- 5+ years of proven work experience in accounting
- Fluency in English and German is a must
- Very good knowledge of Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) and IFRS knowledge.
- Construction, Infrastructure, background would be preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of Oracle Netsuite accounting software is beneficial
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel
- Self starter and have a pro-active approach to working with minimal supervision
- Comfortable in a fast-paced international, multicultural environment
- Excellent analytical skills, detail-oriented and proactive
- Very independent and reliable way of working
- Team player, integrity and perseverance, flexible, dedicated
- High motivation and very strong communication skills
- High tolerance to pressure and meeting deadlines
