Cost Planning & Forecasting Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding leading organisation specialising in defence related projects. They are currently in search of a Cost, Planning and Forecasting Specialist to fulfil a busy and critical permanent position.
Your new role
Reporting to the Executive Manager, you will provide support to the Business Management Unit Cost and Forecasting Team. You will assist in reconciling and auditing all transactional activities relating to projects updating financial report data on a monthly basis across the various finance and procurement related systems.

Reconcile bank accounts and supported corporate data, including developing a methodology and automation process for seamless maintenance.

Provide Executive with the financial position of accounts and produce a report that provides conclusions about the financial position of the bank account, highlighting any shortfalls and discrepancy of data that is not able to be reconciled, with recommendations of future action in terms of material variances, or acceptance of immateriality.

FY24/25 development of Life Cycle Capability Cost Model.

Delivery of a reconciliation tool that heavily leverages automation of backing data to deliver discrepancy/matching of financials in the bank account, compared to the finance reporting system.

What you'll need to succeed
This role needs someone who has proven communication skills and attention to detail. It is essential that you can demonstrate a knowledge of cost control and forecasting in a complex environment and you are someone who has critical thinking and the ability to work autonomously in a lean environment. You are probably someone who is used to operating in a project environment.

Currently hold Australian defence security clearance (NV1)
