The Opportunity
This newly created role will have responsibility for increased transparency and quality of financial data related to the Fund's investments and reported externally and internally. To do this, you will ensure appropriate accounting methods, practices, and procedures are in place.
In addition to this, you will:
- Maintain accurate fund accounting activities, including unit pricing, tax provisions, and general ledger operations, ensuring a robust month-end/year-end process.
- Coordinate and reconcile unlisted asset valuations, custodian updates, and distribution calculations for Special Purpose Vehicles.
- Prepare and deliver accurate and timely Investment Reporting Team outputs, including statutory reports, Board and Committee packs, and stakeholder information.
- Manage relationships with external bodies, such as the Fund's custodian, third-party providers, and auditors, ensuring compliance and service delivery.
- Design and implement effective internal controls over quarter-ends, product life-cycles, and external custodian processes, aimed at process improvement and governance.
- Support the Investment Reporting team and Group Financial Controller, identifying and implementing process improvements for broader efficiencies and governance.
- Provide support to other Investment Reporting team members and the Group Financial Controller as required.
About You
Experience, Capability, and Qualifications required:
- Strong knowledge of accounting, unit pricing, controls, and reconciliation principles, paired with CA or CPA qualification.
- Experience with Superannuation, Fund Management, or Custodian.
- Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Experience in managing outsourced provider relationships to ensure the delivery of agreed service standards.
- Methodical working style with attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and interpretive skills for implementing regulatory requirements and solving problems.
