Under minimal supervision, analyzes High Yield companies and their investable loan obligations in support of Empower’s CLO Platform. Under minimal supervision, performs individual credit reviews, loan-level and industry-level relative value analysis, loan-level recovery analysis, and loan-level credit monitoring and reporting for a multi-sector CLO loan portfolio.
What you will do:
- Researches and recommends corporate credits and both new issue and secondary market High Yield leveraged loans, all in support of the CLO Platform’s investment strategies
- Presents new investment proposals to the CLO Portfolio Manager and other senior investments managers
- Completes all internal credit approval processes and documentation needs in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintains expertise in assigned industries and manages an existing portfolio of High Yield leveraged loans
- Manages credit workouts or restructuring situations and develops loss mitigation strategies when appropriate
- Mentors and supports the development of the Research Team’s more junior Analysts
- May work with the SVP/CIO and CLO Portfolio Manager on special CLO Platform related projects and strategies
- Other duties as assigned
What you will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Mathematics.
- Minimum six (6) years, seven (7) years preferred, of relevant High Yield credit and loan markets experience
- Knowledge of the U.S. fixed income markets, leveraged loan trading and relative value analysis
What will set you apart:
- Chartered Financial Analyst designation or MBA/MSF strongly preferred
- May be required to complete the CFA designation
- Must possess solid business and investments writing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and/or Access
- Proficient in S&P’s Capital IQ application and various Bloomberg fixed-income applications
- Incumbent has general discretion in making credit recommendations. Credit recommendations require approval by the CLO Portfolio Manager and/or the SVP – U.S. Chief Investment Officer prior to final trade execution.
- Incumbent does not have direct responsibility or discretion over company profit plans/expense budgets.
- Incumbent will have active relationships with their Team Leader and other senior managers in the Empower Investment Group, including the CLO Portfolio Manager, the Head of Corporate Bond Research, and the SVP – U.S. CIO & Lead Portfolio Manager.

Base Salary Range
$129,100.00 - $187,225.00
