The incumbent will assist the Head of Financial Management & Analytics in overseeing financial management and control tasks. Major duties include supervising the Accounts Payable Team, reviewing daily journal entries, and conducting month-end closing activities for expense accounts. Furthermore, the role encompasses analyzing expense data, deploying innovative technology solutions, and working closely with other finance departments to ensure accurate and timely expense reporting.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing the Account Payable Team (Supplier).
  • Executed payment in a timely manner and accurately as per KPI and in compliance with service levels, company policies, procedures and controls.
  • Ensure all payments queries by business partner(s) and vendor are attended promptly and communications are handled professionally.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices payable, track status and manage internal and external vendor expectations.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to maintain and improve the team's payment processes.
  • Coordinate with the team members to identify root causes and work on payment related.
  • Review daily journals posting, accruals / provisions, expense allocation & accounting information relating to expenses & fixed asset.
  • Perform month end closing activities related to expenses accounts.
  • Work closely with other finance team within the organization for monthly closing schedule and ensures expenses is closed on a timely basis.
  • Analyze expense data and identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Extract and prepare monthly expense related reports and provide commentary and insights on the expense.
  • Implement innovative technology solutions and best practices to streamline expense reporting and consolidation processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with other finance functions and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timeliness of expense reporting and payments.
  • Manage the company's year-end management expense accruals.
  • Perform annual review / update on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support team member ensuring high level of service are provided to stakeholder.
  • Liaise with Internal / external auditors to ensure all supporting are provided for the audit.
  • Handle special / ad hoc projects as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of 7-9 years of experience in auditing, finance, or accounting, specifically within the insurance sector, preferably in a high-volume processing environment.
  • Proficient in a computerized accounting environment, with advanced knowledge of personal computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data other analysis tools such as Power Query and Alteryx.
  • Good understanding of end-to-end P2P process and controls.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and hands-on personally.
  • High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork.
  • Demonstrates proactive efforts to enhance existing conditions and exhibits adaptability in accepting new changes.
