Assistant Controller

Description

We are in need of an Assistant Controller to join our team in the manufacturing industry, based in Nesconset, New York. The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in handling operational accounting tasks on a day-to-day basis and providing mentorship to a small team of accounting professionals. The role involves a deep understanding of cost accounting and inventories, and familiarity with Oracle NetSuite.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operational accounting tasks

• Mentor and guide a small team consisting of a senior accountant and an accounts receivable clerk

• Ensure understanding and application of cost accounting and inventories

• Utilize Oracle NetSuite for various accounting functions

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Conduct auditing tasks as necessary

• Oversee billing functions within the organization

• Leverage Accounting Software Systems and Concur for efficient task completion.

Requirements

• Proficiency in NetSuite Software Systems is a big plus

• Experience with Concur is required

• Demonstrable knowledge of various Accounting Functions

• Should possess expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) processing

• Must have experience in Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Auditing skills are necessary

• Familiarity with Billing Functions is required
