Reporting directly to the Vice President, Finance & Technology Partnerships, the individual will take a lead role in the specific areas of Finance including but not limited to Treasury, Acquisitions & Dispositions, Insurance, and Strategic Planning. The role will be a key business partner across the organization as well as interacting with external stakeholders such as lenders and insurance underwriters. The position will provide strong business and financial analysis to support key decisions for day-to-day operations, capital investments, and advancement of long-term strategic plans. This is a Calgary based position working Monday to Friday.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with VP, Finance & Technology Partnerships to develop and maintain five-year business model based on company objectives & strategy
  • Lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative culture, and create action plans to acquire or develop talent  as needed to meet organizational needs
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement, enhancing financial insights, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models to support key decision-making, building these models directly when required to evaluate strategic opportunities and growth initiatives
  • Direct treasury operations, including cash management, liquidity forecasting, and optimizing capital structure to support the organization’s financial flexibility and growth strategies
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis, develop business cases for Executive and Board approval, and provide recommendations based on detailed financial analysis and scenario planning
  • Use IFRS knowledge and other relevant financial principles to evaluate the financial implications of transactions, ensuring compliance and effective decision-making
  • Collaborate and build relationships with internal CEDA stakeholders to prepare financial metrics, key talking points, and strategic insights within the context of broader industry and macroeconomic trends
  • Drive the development and implementation of scalable financial processes and tools including development of corporate insurance and financial risk management programs
  • Provide leadership in acquisition due diligence, evaluating opportunities to ensure alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
  • Adapt style and communication methods to suit different situations including preparation and delivery of clear, concise, and impactful presentations for senior executives and Board discussions, distilling complex financial concepts into actionable recommendations.
  • Other project work as assigned

Role Specifications:

  • A minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance, strategic planning, or corporate development, ideally within the energy, services or related sectors
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and scenario analysis with demonstrated ability to build and interpret complex models.
  • Proven leadership experience, including mentoring and managing high-performing teams in a collaborative and results-driven environment
