Job Description
The Senior GL Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Reporting to senior staff, he'll apply accounting principles, ensuring compliance with standards and contributing to accurate financial reporting.

The position is open for a candidate with strong technical experience in accountancy (e.g. audit, general accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory reporting):

• Perform month-end close complex activities
• Participate to the drafting of financial statements as required
• Reconcile accounts and prepares variance analysis; identifies and explains issues (e.g., variances outside of established norms)
• Identify opportunities for improvement and updates processes or documentation
• Prepare financial statements based on supporting documents self-prepared or provided by others on more complex operations as needed
• Update internal documentation and procedures as warranted; execute internal control procedures and continue monitoring to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial records
• Assist with external audits, understanding auditor's requests and responding with proper documentation
• Understand new or changing transactions and accounting standards, assist with evaluating impact, propose and discuss solutions with more senior associates for agreement before revising corresponding processes and deliverables
• Build relationships within Global Finance and collaborate with other areas of the business

The Successful Applicant
The Senior GL Accountant we are looking for will bring the following background and experience :

• A minimum of 5-7 years experience in accounting or in an audit firm
• In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (or other equivalent accounting standards) and the ability to apply it to work assignments
• In-depth knowledge of accounting IT systems and Excel
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
