Mizuho Bank is seeking experienced compliance professionals to join a newly formed team to manage compliance risk for the Asia-Pacific region. Working closely with the country compliance teams in Mizuho Bank's APAC offices, the APAC Wholesale Banking & Markets Compliance team will support the businesses of Mizuho Bank (Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Transaction Banking Department and Treasury Department) at the regional level, provide compliance risk management advice, advise on market conduct requirements and rules, and help ensure business is conducted across the region in a manner that aligns with Mizuho risk appetite and compliance framework and policies.

Key responsibilities•Support and assist the APAC Chief Compliance Officer in the design, development, delivery and execution of best in class compliance framework and programme
•In collaboration with Country Compliance Officers, provide compliance coverage and guidance to regional business units
•Oversee prompt identification of applicable laws, regulations and requirements, impact assessment and implementation of appropriate controls
•Support the business in the analysis of the impact of new regulatory developments on the industry
•Oversee and advise on identification, assessment and management / remediation of key compliance risks / issues by the business
•Support the business in the review of new products and services
•Support the identification and development of required training for the business
•Participate in industry groups or other forums
•Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders
•Provide support and guidance to country compliance teams

Job Requirements
Knowledge, skills and experience•Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•At least 15 years' experience in compliance, legal or other controls related function in the financial services industry
•Knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of compliance programmes
•Strong understanding of wholesale banking and markets products and services as well as processes
•Ability to assess complex issues, understand and analyze root cause(s) and potential solutions, and drive resolution
•Highly motivated team player
•Strong analytical, communication, presentation and people skills, ability to influence and collaborate with people across different cultures and backgrounds
•Adaptable, resilient and passionate about making a difference
•Subject matter expert, experience dealing with complex issues, forward-looking, solutions-oriented, ability to be hands-on
