Job description:

As the team lead for the Procurement Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that procurement policies and procedures are continuously reviewed and updated to meet evolving business needs. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance by divisions when executing procurement transactions.

You will be tasked with regular review and update of procurement policies and procedures, striking a balance between operational efficiency and robust governance. In addition, you will provide valuable insights to management on procurement approval papers submitted by divisions, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

A key aspect of your role will involve developing and implementing data-driven solutions, e.g. data analytics, to replace manual compliance checks currently performed by the team. This will enable the automation of compliance monitoring, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.

You will also serve as a trusted advisor to divisions, addressing their queries and providing support on matters related to procurement, payments, and budgeting. Your customer-oriented approach will ensure smooth and effective collaboration across the organization.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Accountancy, Business or equivalent professional qualifications
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role
  • Good understanding of the procurement function with some accounting knowledge and data analytics experience will be an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form, and in engaging and managing senior stakeholders
  • Strong planning and organization skills to drive and manage multiple projects
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in systems such as SAP, electronic procurement system, etc
  • Knowledge in data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc. will be an advantage
