Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Oversee and manage the indirect tax function to ensure compliance with tax authorities across the firm's entities.
- Maintain and update the property tax master schedule, payment timelines, and cash flow forecasts.
- Effectively manage and utilize third-party consultants.
- Conduct transaction tax audits to minimize potential audit risks.
- Perform refund reviews and recover any outstanding tax refunds.
- Ensure that transaction tax determinations within automated tax software are accurate and backed by relevant statutes, regulations, and administrative rulings.
- Review and research relevant tax laws, regulations, and rulings to address tax audit and compliance issues.
- Ensure all tax returns and payments are filed accurately and on time with the relevant tax authorities.
- Prepare account reconciliations and provide variance explanations for assigned general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the monthly tax accrual process.
- Prepare and manage tax exemption certificates.
- Provide timely responses to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to efforts aimed at streamlining tax processes, enhancing accuracy, upgrading software, and related initiatives.
- Deliver internal tax training sessions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant fields.
- 5+ years of indirect tax compliance experience.
- Hands-on experience using Tax software, ERP systems, and Excel.
- Energy experience is nice to have, but not required!
- Professional certifications such as a CPA are nice to have, but not required!
- Strong communication skills.
