CFO/Controller

Description

Construction firm is looking for a CFO/Controller. The position is located in Queens and they are in the office 5 days/week, so are seeking locally based candidates only.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the general ledger accounting process, including month-end close activities.
• Ensure timely and accurate accounts receivable management, including invoicing and collections.
• Implement and maintain internal controls.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex financial transactions.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare detailed reports for senior management to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Accounting/Finance degree
• CPA preferred
• Strong experience as a CFO/Controller from the Construction, Architecture, Engineering industry
• Project Accounting/WIP experience
• Strong Financial Reporting experience - ideally from a Public company, alternatively from a large company
