This role will be responsible for the following:
- Support the Consumer & Wealth FP&A teams by conducting in-depth research on industry trends, market dynamics, and economic indicators to assess their impact on business performance.
- Transform external and internal data into actionable insights for management reviews and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality analytics to business stakeholders, focusing on performance drivers, trends, and competitive positioning
- Develop a deep understanding of the broader economic, market, and business environment, including the Bank's and Business Unit's strategic priorities and key external metrics.
- Analyse economic indicators like interest rates and GDP growth to assess their impact on the banking industry and inform the bank's strategy and outcomes.
- Identify market trends, risks, and opportunities, and assess their potential impact on business strategy and client behaviour.
- Analyse competitor data, including market share, pricing, and sales performance, to understand strategies and performance, providing real-time insights.
- Conduct SWOT analyses and use KPIs to benchmark and compare competitor offerings, identifying opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage.
- Gather and analyse data from financial reports, industry publications, and economic sources to evaluate competitor strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning.
- Analyse financial statements and key metrics such as revenue, profit margins, and cash flow to uncover strategic opportunities.
- Create clear and impactful presentations using PowerPoint to effectively communicate analysis and insights; expert PowerPoint skills required.
To be eligible for this role you will require:
- 8+ years in finance, with experience in Wealth/Consumer Banking at a leading global financial services firm; experience in corporate strategy or management consulting is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, or a related field; CPA, CMA, ACCA, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
- Proficient in data analysis and presenting insights through impactful PowerPoint presentations; excellent written and verbal communication skills for managing diverse stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics; collaborate effectively with business and strategy teams to align competitor insights with broader strategies.
