Section Manager Controller

Our client is an esteemed player in the Industrial / Manufacturing sector, with a reputation for excellence and innovation. This large organisation has a significant presence in Amsterdam and holds a commanding position in the market.

Functie

• Oversee all accounting matters, including branch operations and consolidation;
• Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, compliant with Dutch GAAP and company policies;
• Manage key financial transactions (AP, AR, GL, taxes) and ensure proper ledger reconciliations;
• Lead and motivate Branch Accountants, driving performance and process improvement;
• Maintain and improve accounting controls, systems, and written procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency;
• Ensure compliance with internal and external control regulations, including JSOX and Dutch financial laws;
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and coordinate audits and statutory filings;
• Oversee tax areas, including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Transfer Pricing, and customs duties, with support from external consultants;
• Ensure accurate preparation of financial reporting obligations (e.g., CBS filings);

Profiel

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with 5+ years of experience in a Big 4 firm or international business environment;
• Professional qualification (RA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA);
• Proven experience as an Accounting Manager, Finance Controller, or Business Controller;
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and management accounting/reporting processes;
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with a professional, detail-oriented, and ambitious mindset;
• Ability to prioritize effectively, take initiative, and lead teams;
• Fluent in written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus.
