About the opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Manager - Private Wealth Distribution, the Investment Associate is often the first point of contact with clients on a broad array of services related to account servicing and self-directed investment portfolios. Working closely with Investment Directors, this industry professional combines relationship management with marketing skills, and product knowledge to cultivate long-standing relationships with clients. This self-starter must be able to work across a team, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to respond quickly to client questions and concerns.
The Investment Associate is an integral member of Commonwealth Private's self-directed team and is responsible for delivering a consistent, positive client experience to help ensure all commitments are completed and delivered in a timely manner.

In addition to the above, you will:
- Establish and cultivate trusting relationships with new and existing clients
- Stay current with investment markets
- Manage ongoing relationship building with multiple Investment Directors and their clients
- Effectively apply processes supporting the delivery of the self-directed offering, and delivery of Line 1 risk controls
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders in implementing solutions and solving client queries
- Develop presentation materials to assist Investment Directors in cultivating new business opportunities
- Provide occasional coverage for the Private Wealth Markets execution team
- Be responsible for the administration relating to the on boarding of new self-directed clients as well as the implementation of new investments in conjunction with Commonwealth Privates execution desk
- Collaborate with the Investment Director to develop and implement an overall business plan that may include events and customised seminars
- Provide administrative support revolving around coordination of meetings and data entry
- Complete and maintain compliance requirements and continual education (CPD points) as required by role
About you
To be successful you will have:
- 5 + years of work experience in a relevant role preferably supporting HNW clients
- Tertiary qualifications in a business related discipline such as Finance, Commerce, Economics
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and the financial services industry
- Detail-orientated with strong organisational skills
- Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
