Country Head: Australia

Role Location: Sydney

The Country Head role at Apex will lead the business by developing and driving the strategic sales growth of the key markets within the country. The incumbent will nurture current client relationships and drive cross and up selling opportunities, support the expansion and sustainable growth of the business, implement a broad set of business objectives that align to Apex's global initiatives, and ensure the business achieves and maintains its competitive edge within its marketplaces. The role will influence and work with the different cross functional teams to ultimately deliver business goals.

The Role & Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Lead the country to achieve budget and operational targets
  • Use the weekly meeting to set various departmental targets for the week to meet the company's objectives
  • Incorporate the Client Relationship management function across departments to ensure optimal client coverage is achieved
  • Work in conjunction with Product & Operations to ensure Optimal Model platform technology is deployed to each Client and that any Operational issue at a relationship level are raised timely for resolution
  • Employ Client Retention Matrix and other processes to increases client touchpoints including product density and cross-sell
  • Ensure that all contracts meet the Terms and Conditions as required by the Company including timely billings and receivables management
  • Ensure budget plan forecast targets are met across stakeholders monthly including product sales into region.
  • Work closely with the local board of directors/Leadership team to ensure compliant operation of the entity in-line with governance standards and raise any issues as indicated into the departmental Risk function.
  • Ensure Compliance function is upheld for the entity including review of market facing activities and review of any new and/or product extensions. Influence and work with the wider operations, product, and IT teams to drive through initiatives to improve client service delivery and streamline the organization
  • Manage large client relationships and partner with the business to deliver agreed SLAs / SLDs through the Tempo tool as aligned to the Optimal Operating model - both internal and external.
  • Regularly monitor the business effectiveness of delivering to SLA's and identify client delivery improvements
  • Implement global strategic initiatives across the country and ensure alignment with business policies and procedures
  • Ensure effective working relationships with local, regional, and global functional departments across Apex such as HR, Finance, Risk, Compliance, etc; to ensure service delivery for the Country
  • Build networks and relationships within industry
  • Design and implement initiatives intended to deliver greater efficiency, accuracy and client satisfaction

Skills and Experience Required:
  • 10-15 years' experience in the finance industry, part of it being in Asset Management. Experience in top tear consulting firms will be a strong plus.
  • Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Working knowledge of performance/operation metrics, IT/Business infrastructure
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Comfort liaising with clients, advisors and intermediaries.
  • Risk identification and management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and influence up and down the management hierarchy.
  • Experience with regulatory law helpful but not mandatory
  • Able to establish good rapport quickly with both internal and with external parties
