The Role:

Our Finance Manager is focused on providing strategic insight and expert advice through reporting and is jointly responsible for the full suite of accounting and reporting functions at Pepperstone. Working in our close-knit Finance team, reporting directly into the Financial Controller in Melbourne, you will make a tangible impact every day by ensuring day-to-day finance tasks are executed quickly and accurately as well as driving finance transformation forward and streamlining finance processes.

To thrive in this role, you'll be a solutions-driven numbers-person who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both high-level strategic work as well as being hands-on and immersing yourself into details. Your confidence, people skills, and enthusiasm allow you to liaise with different parts of the business as well as external stakeholders and auditors.

Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
  • Providing detailed fortnightly, monthly and quarterly reporting on segment, company, and business unit results and ensuring meaningful insights and recommendations are delivered
  • Examining new or modified accounting standards, amendments to corporations' law, accounting policy statements and implementing changes
  • Maintaining cash flow budget and forecasts
  • Overseeing and reviewing of the AP function
  • Managing compliance and reporting requirements to ATO and ASIC
  • Maintaining the chart of accounts, cost centres, and fixed asset register
  • Assisting with the budget, forecasting and planning processes
  • Calculating and reporting on FBT, GST, payroll tax and corporate tax
  • Preparing reports and presentations as required on issues relating to performance and regulation
  • Integration of overseas operations

About You:
  • CA / CPA qualified from with a demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking, identifying relationships between financial and non-financial variables with the ability to deliver a clear message
  • Extensive hands-on experience preparing general-purpose statutory accounts for large corporate
  • Advanced Excel and data mining ability
  • Strong problem solving and reconciliation skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated with proven initiative to be able to work to multiple deadlines and manage competing priorities under limited supervision
