Programme Overview

The consultant will serve as the D365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME), representing Real Assets Investment Accounting business users in collaboration with an existing Real Assets Investment Accountant (Business SME), Business Analysts (BAs) and the Systems Integrator (SI) team. The SME will bridge business requirements with technical delivery, ensuring that the solution aligns with finance functional needs, process improvements, and strategic objectives.

The project is nearing the end of the vision phase and will enter the solution design and Review stage early next year.

Scope of Services

1. Understand and validate the Requirements gathered

Collaborate with BAs, SIs, and Business SMEs to review and validate finance business requirements, focusing on core accounting/ reporting aspects, such as the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, fixed assets, budgeting/ forecasting, consolidation, and financial reporting.

- Ensure requirements accurately reflect end-user needs and compliance standards and follow the best practices

2. Solution Design and Review

- Working with the SI team to review proposed D365 F&O configurations and workflows.

- Evaluate design against finance functional requirements and provide insights on best practices, ensuring alignment with business goals.

- Recommend adjustments where necessary to enhance process efficiency and data accuracy.

3. Testing and Validation

- Assist in developing test cases and scenarios to validate D365 F&O functionalities.

- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring that finance modules meet functional requirements and perform as expected.

- Support data migration validation, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

4. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

- Act as a liaison between finance users and the project team, providing updates on progress and gathering feedback.

- Conduct workshops, as needed, to communicate design, functionality, and benefits to finance stakeholders.

- Escalate any concerns around the project/ progress with the HoIA to ensure timely remediation.

5. Training and Knowledge Transfer

- Assist in developing training materials and provide hands-on training sessions to finance end-users.

- Ensure finance teams are equipped to use D365 F&O functionalities effectively post-implementation.

6. Continuous Support and Post-Implementation Guidance

- Provide post-implementation support during the stabilisation phase.

- Identify any gaps or enhancement opportunities for continuous improvement.

Role Requirement

- Qualified accountant

- Must have strong D365 F&O implementation experience

- Experience in Real Assets Investment Accounting will be an added benefit.

- Data manipulation and modelling capabilities, including advanced use of Excel.

- Strong PowerPoint and presentation skills.

- Process design skills, including process mapping, use of Visio, and production of 'swim-lane' process diagrams
