• Leadership and Collaboration: As a senior position, the Comptrollership Head should have excellent leadership and collaboration skills. This includes the ability to provide guidance to and work closely with not just team members but also to colleagues across different departments.
• Analytical Skills and Experience: What do the numbers mean? What issues should we think about? The Comptrollership Head should be able to draw patterns and insights from numbers in order to surface the underlying stories and concerns.
• Knowledge of Financial Systems: Familiarity with financial systems and software used for accounting, financial reporting, and data analysis is crucial for streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency.
• Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: The Comptrollership Head should be well-versed in accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements to ensure the organization remains compliant
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information and build rapport with stakeholders.
• Integrity and Professionalism: High ethical standards, respecting confidentiality while adhering to regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience working in a very fast pace environment, startups or financial institutions, especially fintech, banks, and lending companies, MNCs or FMCGs would be strongly preferred.
• Be able to connect the dots and handle, decipher and navigate ambiguous situations/scenarios.
• An entrepreneurial spirit and a strong sense of initiative are necessary for success.
