Principal Duties & Responsibilities
• Advise and assist internal stakeholders in implementing industry strategic sourcing best-practices, to include demand management, RFXs, volume bundling, risk management, supplier relationship management (SRM), customer relationship management (CRM) and spend management
• Facilitates adherence to Aflac's Joint Sourcing Process (Charter, Analysis, Sourcing and Contracting) for various contract types and risk ratings. Responsible for collecting all relevant artifacts or exceptions and properly saving these artifacts within the chosen system.
• Negotiates business and financial terms and conditions for new, incremental, and renewal agreements.
• Negotiate contract pricing based on formulated negotiation strategies in an effort to meet business objectives and ensure best value for Aflac
• Facilitates internal customers' collaboration with members of the joint sourcing team to gather business case artifacts, financial analysis on supplier/affinity partners, Go-shopping approval, Security assessments, Risk assessments, SEMO budget approval, supplier analysis, primary and secondary research competitive analysis, and sourcing strategy
• Facilitates the review and approval of high-risk contracts by (Legal, SS&P, SEMO, ERM, FP&A, BU or other internal) stakeholders. All other contracts deemed medium or low risk must be sent to legal either from the BU or SS&P
• Collaborates with business customers and suppliers to resolve contract compliance issues; works proactively with internal stakeholders to monitor supplier performance and customer satisfaction for improvement opportunities
• Supports internal stakeholders in facilitation of quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with high-risk suppliers/affinity partners, to include developing meeting agendas, creation and maintenance of dashboards, KPIs
• Delegate and coordinate work to sourcing analysts
• Share sourcing expertise with business partners and mentor junior colleagues
• Collaborates with Sourcing Consultant(s) and Management
• Performs other duties as required.
Total Rewards
This compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Aflac at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case. This salary range does not include any potential incentive
pay or benefits, however, such information will be provided separately when appropriate. The salary range for this position is $57,000 to $145,000.
In addition to the base salary, we offer an array of benefits to meet your needs including medical, dental, and vision coverage, prescription drug coverage, health care flexible spending, dependent care flexible spending, Aflac supplemental policies (Accident, Cancer, Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity offered at no costs to employee), 401(k) plans, annual bonuses, and an opportunity to purchase company stock. What does it take to be successful in this role?
- In-depth knowledge of sourcing principals, supplier analysis, RFP and primary and secondary research methods.
- Ability to identify and research potential new suppliers.
- Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate contracts.
- Maintain strong supplier relations, liaison with internal stakeholders.
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and methodology of procurement and ability to adapt the same to new situations.
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication and team facilitation skills to effectively interact and negotiate with senior management, internal and external customers, and suppliers.
- Aptitude for conceptualizing, communicating and selling new concepts while also being able to take an analytic approach to problem solving and strategic development.
- Strong personal computer skills with experience in Windows-based software.
Education & Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Accounting, IT, Supply Chain Mgmt, or related field.
- Four to six years of professional job-related experience.
