Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Assistant Controller in the accounting industry, based in Hauppauge, New York. The role involves working on accounting software systems, assisting with month-end closures, reconciliation, and managing accounts receivable. The workplace encourages the use of various skills such as ADP - Financial Services, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Auditing, and Billing Functions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and process customer credit applications efficiently

• Maintain and update customer credit records accurately

• Assist in the monthly closing processes

• Conduct reconciliation tasks to ensure accurate financial records

• Handle accounts receivable and ensure prompt and accurate billing

• Take on ad hoc projects as they arise, showing flexibility and initiative

• Utilize accounting software systems, such as Sage Intact, to perform tasks efficiently

• Work on Excel for various accounting functions

• Assist with accounts payable functions, ensuring all financial obligations are met

• Conduct auditing tasks to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial processes.

Requirements

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services
• Extensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge in Auditing practices and procedures
• Ability to perform Billing Functions effectively
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
