This, coupled with changing regulatory landscape and reporting deadlines, the Balance Sheet Reconciliation Lead becomes a key role. Key responsibilities include:
This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract and embraces flexible working arrangements. You'll have the freedom to work remotely, with occasional office attendance required on an ad hoc basis, ensuring a harmonious balance between business needs and personal flexibility. Your new role
This company has implemented a number of financial transformation initiatives over the last 3 years to support wider business strategic initiatives. This, coupled with changing regulatory landscape and reporting deadlines, the Balance Sheet Reconciliation Lead becomes a key role. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with business units, senior finance leaders, area leads, and other subject-matter experts to ensure all financial closures are completed on time with quality, across various functions including:
- Finance systems, Financial accounting, Management accounting, Business operations and Actuarial
- Ensuring balance sheet reconciliation is completed in line with standards outlined in balance sheet reconciliation guideline
- Driving automation and simplification journey in relation to balance sheet reconciliation functions
- Identify and assess the deliverable risks and issues, and to support, develop and implement appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies.
- Qualified accountant - CA or CPA
- Experience in financial reporting cycle and financial accounting
- Experience in accountable for outcome of balance sheet reconciliation
- Audit experience preferred, but not essential
- Australian Life Insurance, banking and financial services industry experience essential
- Experience in people management essential
- Experience in managing outsourced providers are essential.
- Experience working with ERP, Finance platform implementations and operations is highly desirable
- Worked in small project teams delivering enterprise-wide projects with IT changes
