Overview:
Our IT Finance and Planning team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to lead all aspects of the key IT Financial Planning & Accounting processes: planning, budgeting, forecasting, tracking actuals, and variance analysis. Acts as the day-to-day IT point of contact for key stakeholders (i.e., IT department leads, cost center owners, Financial Planning, and Accounting). Consults with IT senior management team and works with key stakeholders to ensure the key processes are efficient, effective, and follow best practices. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
This position reports to the manager of the IT Finance and Planning team. This team is aligned to a newly formed function called the Transformation Office, which has accountability for standing up a product and customer centric model at Selective. This role will play a part in shifting our financial process from a project model to a portfolio model. We are looking for someone who can run and own the current state processes, and then be a part of transformation our financial practices, processes, and systems.

Salary range: $104,000 - $150,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
- Develops and leads the annual IT budget process, including the establishment of the milestone plan and key dates, meets with key budget stakeholders, monitors progress, and prepares the submission for approval. Coordinates with external stakeholders as appropriate, including Financial Planning, Accounting, Cost Center Owners, and IT Senior Leadership team. Prepares and presents annual budget reports for all key stakeholders including IT Leadership team and CIO.
- Develops and leads the monthly budget review processes (forecast, actuals, variance). Monitors the overall IT spend and participates with key stakeholders in analyzing actual to budget performance and forecast implications. Provides reports to IT Senior Leadership and recommends accruals as appropriate. Coordinates activity of Resource Managers in updating forecasts on a monthly cadence. Prepares and presents monthly forecast reports to IT Department Heads and CIO.
- Calculates and tracks amortization, depreciation, capitalization and attrition.
- Leads the process to gather information from IT Leadership and create the presentation for the quarterly business prioritization meeting.
- Identifies and implements process improvements related to the above activities
- Ensures the provision of relevant financial data required to support IT reporting and metrics and leads or assists in any applicable audit processes.
- Provides leadership, daily oversight, and guidance for junior team members for all applicable department work.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years in finance, preferably with a focus on IT finance, budget management, or other applicable area
- Strong analytical skills and financial acumen required
- Strong communication and presentation to senior leaders skills required
- Experience leading small cross-functional team required
- P&C Industry experience preferred
- Experience with Apptio preferred
