Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Controller. The job is located in Rochester, New York. As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for managing all accounting functions that support our properties. This includes managing the monthly closing process, maintaining general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses.
Responsibilities:
• Managing accounting functions that support properties
• Overseeing the monthly closing process
• Maintaining general and subsidiary ledgers
• Handling accounts receivable and revenue distribution
• Managing depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses
• Preparing schedules and statements for audits
• Utilizing excellent time management and communication skills to achieve tasks
• Applying meticulous professionalism with a strong work ethic to exceed expectations
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is a requirement
• CPA is preferred
• Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience managing a team.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the property management or hospitality industry (multiple properties/entities)
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions, Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger
• Experience with Month-end Close Activities, Subsidiary Ledger, and Accounts Receivables systems
• Knowledge of Revenue Accounting and Depreciation
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Proactive team player with strong problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
