The Client
Our client is a large Investment management company. They are an entrepreneurial firm with exciting growth prospects.
The Role
The Tax Accountant will be managing the tax affairs of the Investment Management business.
The experienced Tax Accountant is to ensure tax compliance and tax consideration for future strategic growth of the Investment Management firm.
The Tax Accountant will confidently review month end accruals for corporation tax and deferred tax, liaising with external third parties on preparation of returns (corporate and partnership), the calculation of the quarterly Payment on Account when relevant and ensure that all tax computation and returns are filed with HMRC.
The Tax Accountant will prepare and submit the quarterly VAT returns for the UK entities, including the presentation of the VAT returns to the Financial Controller for review before submission.
The Tax Accountant will provide general daily duties in supporting the Investment Management business, delivering advice and guidance acting as a point of contact with HMRC across all aspects of Tax.
The Tax Accountant will co-ordinate monthly Tax Governance meetings, provide ongoing support to the wider finance team on accounting for Tax and VAT, the preparation of detailed tax calculations and completions of tax forms and journals.
The Candidate
Tax Accounting experience, with a professional qualification in Accounting (ACA, CA, ACCA etc) or tax (ATT or CTA)
Proven experience within a tax function
Financial Services business experience - ideally
Experience in direct and indirect taxes
Previous experience dealing with HMRC
Strong excel skills
Good commercial awareness; keeps up to date on knowledge and compliance with tax requirements
Attention to detail
